Father Involvement, Parenting Plans, and the Child’s Voice – This interactive program will use didactic presentation, fish bowls, role plays, and in-depth discussion to examine how a child, a previously minimally-involved father, mental health professionals and attorney advocates all view what is happening in the family. The focus will be on how to understand information from children and how to utilize their information to maximize positive legal and mental health outcomes. Step-up parenting planning, father involvement, mothers’ concerns, and children’s perspectives will be topics highlighted using case material about a child entering school, and then, years later, entering high school.
